About the Foundation
The Usibelli Foundation was incorporated in 1991 and was funded with a $1 million endowment contributed by Usibelli Coal Mine. That initial endowment and the coal mine’s subsequent support of the Foundation have allowed the Foundation’s asset base and annual investment income to grow.

With a focus on enhancing the quality of life in the communities where we live and work, the Usibelli Foundation supports nonprofit organizations and programs that align with our values of education, health and wellness, community enrichment, and youth development. Each year, our Allocations Committee reviews grant applications and awards funding to programs that are making a measurable difference across the state.
